THE PURPOSE OF OUR GROUP
The Harvest Chaplain ministry will seek to partner with and support our Pastor and leadership in areas of prayer, visitation of church family members, shut-ins, hospital visits, local jail ministries, and in the area of unexpected events where help is needed. We will seek to be the hands and feet of Christ to glorify God in all we do.
WHAT IS A CHAPLAIN?
Over the past few years, several of our church members at Harvest Community Church have been called into the Chaplaincy ministry. We have been trained by the International Alliance of Community Chaplains (IAOCC), originating in Seneca County, Ohio. The IAOCC trains Community Chaplains in the areas of Grief & Loss, Traumatology, Crisis Intervention, Critical Incident Stress Management, First Responder Counseling, Biblical Counseling, Crisis and Disaster relief, etc. As a ministry at Harvest Community Church, our licensed Chaplains will seek to partner with our Pastor and leadership in the areas of prayer, visitation of church members or hospital visits, local jail ministries, and help assist in the every day lives of our church family. In this way, we will be following our church statement, “to care for the wounded and hurting people where they are in their journey, so they can find purpose and joy in their relationship with Jesus Christ”. We will strive to be the hands and feet of Christ in our church and surrounding community.
